One of the benefits of specifying Salepoint’s unique shopfitting service is that the company is always available to offer expert assistance for future expansion. This was the case with the Plantation Garden Centre in Harrow, where the original interior refurbishment project was completed by Salepoint a few years ago. The specification was to create a main shop area with all the accoutrements, including checkout facilities, shelving, racking and display units. Dovetail shop fittings were installed almost to the ceiling to accommodate the display and new ceilings and lighting were also installed, which highlight the burgundy and yellow colour co-ordinated and timber effect components that Salepoint recommended.
Recently, the centre turned its attention to a glass covered area at the back of the main shop, Salepoint was contacted to devise a solution to what had basically become a storage area. “Initially, the owners wanted to tidy up the space,” comments Dennis. “However, we were able to offer a more practical and economic solution that maximised the space available and presented a neater and more accessible area.” This involved specifying additional double-sided gondolas to help give the area more of a ‘shop appearance’.
In this project, because we were familiar with the layout of the environment and the requirements of the owners, we were able to offer our services more in the role of consultants,” continues Dennis. “The recommended proposal enhanced the image of the centre as a professional, upmarket establishment
Salepoint’s wide ranging experience in pets and aquatics, hardware and horticultural trades put the company in an ideal position to help ensure success at The Old Railway Line Nursery and Garden Centre, Brecon.
The garden centre, situated on the Old Hereford to Brecon Railway line, has diversified over recent years and now offers pet supplies, many types of garden accessories and tools as well as a huge range of plants and flowers. The owners looked to Salepoint to provide the solution when a new layout was needed.
“We needed new shopfittings to update and extend our offering to customers,” explains owner Mark Cleary. “The brand new outdoor living area in particular needed to be displayed to its best advantage.” Salepoint’s modular shopfittings were specified in order to create a high visual impact and ensure maximum sales for The Old Railway Line nursery and garden centre.
Mark adds: “We have used Salepoint many times since our centre opened in 1990 and have been impressed with the quality of product and with the standard of service.”
Floors Castle Garden Centre is an independent outlet set in the grounds of historic Floors Castle, home of the Duke of Roxburghe at Kelso on the Scottish borders. A recent upgrade by the owners has led to the installation of shelving supplied and designed by Salepoint to accommodate expansion mainly within the giftware section.
“We wanted to upgrade the area so we contacted a number of companies of whom Salepoint was the most competitive on price with a range that perfectly suited our requirements,” comments Emma Emmerson. “Our glasshouse has a complicated arrangement of support bars and heating pipes that span the area and Salepoint visited us and were able to design a solution around them that fitted perfectly.”
Salepoint supplied items from its glass shelving range that staff from the centre fitted themselves. “Now that the giftware is displayed properly, it looks significantly better than before,” concludes Emma. “We are delighted with the level of service and the quality of the fittings that Salepoint provided.”
