Word of mouth led to Mark Smith contacting Salepoint to fit out his new shop in Herne Bay. Mad About Pets opened recently and required a full refit as the previous owners had taken everything with them when they vacated the premises. It was during a conversation with his father that Salepoint was mentioned and recommended. The company had recently supplied equipment to Mr Smith Senior’s own business which was completely separate from the new pet shop venture.
Salepoint was able to adapt the interior shell of the shop to maximise its sales potential, supplying and installing shelving, racking and display units tailored to meet the requirements of a busy pet store. All the equipment was supplied in the store’s corporate colour scheme of yellow and black.
“Since we opened we have done much better than we anticipated,” continues Mark Smith. “Presentation of our stock is extremely important to make a lasting first impression and to portray the professionalism of the store and Salepoint provided us with a solution that best displays our extensive range of merchandise.”
A year makes all the difference in pet supplies as Mark Sherren, owner of Surrey Pet Supplies in Hersham, has discovered. Last year, Salepoint fitted out both a retail unit and a warehouse for the company when it changed from being a successful pet store to a national web-based pet supplier. Salepoint supplied the racking and display units following a design specification that took into consideration the vast amount of storage that was required.
Now, Surrey Pet Supplies has expanded again and Salepoint was called in to provide yet another solution. This time, the challenge involved fitting out the warehouse to accommodate a ‘cash-and-carry’ facility as well as an animal centre. “We hold over 10,000 items of stock here now,” comments Mark Sherren. “In addition, we have a large number of animals and so we had to rethink the equipment. There was an enormous amount of shelving that needed to be installed and Salepoint was the obvious choice as we had used them before and they could supply what we required from stock without any delays.”
Bow Aquatic Centres has updated the company’s retail facilities with modern, functional steel shopfittings from Salepoint.

Salepoint supplied gondolas to refresh the sale and display areas.
